FREE HOME WATER CONSERVATION KITS
The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is making available free water saving kits to private homeowners and individual apartment tenants who live in New York City. These kits contain retrofit fixtures such as low-flow showerheads, faucet aerators and different gravity tank toilet water saving devices that if installed and are replacing higher consumption fixtures can reduce water consumption and any associated energy costs.
In addition, these kits contain dye tablets used for detecting gravity tank toilet leaks, bags and vials used for measuring shower/faucet flow and/or leaks rates and a host of other items and brochures designed to provide you with ideas on how to conserve water and energy.
If you would like to receive a kit, please call Honeywell DMC Services at 718-326-9426 or Rick Gunthorpe from DEP at 718-595-4781.
